Geena davis is an American actress who was the movie's star for more than 50 years. The actor and actress played roles in Thelma & Louise Beetlejuice and Stuart Little. The actress was nominated as an Golden Globe Award nominee for her character Dottie hinson in A League of Their Own. In 1988, she received the Academy Award Best Supporting actor for Muriel Pritchett's character in The Accidental Tourist. She had a character in the American horror comedy Beetlejuice and was written by and directed by Tim Burton. Virginia Elizabeth Geena Davis was born on 21 January 1955. She is an American actor as well as an activist. Davis is known for her TV and film acting. Her work has been recognized for her portrayal of strong, authentic women characters and for being an advocate for women in the entertainment industry. At a young age Davis was drawn to the field of music. In her teens she began playing flute, the piano and the organ. She had the opportunity to serve as an organist at her Congregationalist Church in Wareham. Davis was a student at Wareham High School. In Sandviken in Sweden she participated as an exchange student. She learned Swedish. She attended New England College before earning the bachelor's diploma in drama at Boston University in 1979. Davis later worked for Ann Taylor as a window display mannequin prior to becoming a model for the Zoli Modeling agency in New York. After earning Junior College All-American accolades, she moved into Arizona State University. However the uncertainty caused her to quit football. The following year, she was enrolled at California State University Fullerton. She graduated with an undergraduate degree in arts with an emphasis in HR and business management. After her studies, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a profession in modeling acting as well as promotions. She then came across an audition for W.W.E. By chance, and impressing the talent-scouts following a trial of four weeks. She then moved from the city of her birth to Orlando Florida, where the Performance Center was located.
